Interstate 5 / Sperry Road Interchange Improvements

NCM is responsible for project management and development of alternatives to improve traffic operations at the existing tight diamond interchange during the Project Approval / Environmental Documentation (PA/ED) phase.

The project will develop interchange improvement alternatives to enhance traffic operations needed to plan for growth within the City of Patterson and clear the project through NEPA and CEQA environmental processes. Key project responsibilities, features and challenges include the following:

• Management of preliminary engineering and environmental documentation

• Coordination with Caltrans District 10 for approvals through the Oversight process

• Coordination with Caltrans Structures Office of Special Funded Projects for approval of Bridge Advance planning Studies

• Coordination with the Department of Water Resources for proposed improvements within State Aqueduct right of way

• Development of improvements that satisfy level of service requirements for the 20 year design horizon while avoiding impacts to existing I-5 structures and the California Aqueduct bridge

• Preliminary civil, highway and structures design

• Analysis of alternative implementing roundabout control at the ramp intersections

• Utility research, conflict studies and coordination

• Development of Bridge Advance Planning Studies

• Development of a Project Report
