NCM Executes a Three Year Caltrans Product Development Contract

Caltrans Division of Engineering Services has contracted with NCM to provide technical structural engineering services under the State Bridge Engineer. The work supports a variety of current and future design code changes that may impact Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, Standard Special Provisions, Bridge Design Manuals, Sign and Overhead Structure Reference Sheets, software applications, presentation materials and other supporting documentation. Specific tasks are expected to include non-linear finite element analysis of bridge railings and slip base systems for sign/equipment poles, including crash simulations using LS-DYNA software, and updates to Standard Plan Signs and Overhead Structures, retaining walls and soundwalls for conformance to AASHTO LRFD.
NCM Begins Design Services for Country Club Drive Bridge

Under a 5-year on-call services contract with San Diego County for delivery of Federal Aid/FHWA funded projects, NCM has begun work to complete the final design and development of PS&E for replacement of the existing low water crossing on Country Club Drive over Escondido Creek with a new bridge that will span the creek and provide a hydraulic opening sufficient to pass the 100-year storm event. NCM and its team are responsible for civil, geotechnical and structural engineering, landscape design, bridge hydraulics and hydrology, bridge type selection, final civil, roadway and bridge design and development of PS&E.
